Where To Buy

Liz is one of today’s most influential make-up artists with a CV to die for. She’s worked with publications like French and Italian Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, I-D, Dazed & Confused and created campaigns for Kenzo, Killer Miss Sixty, Guess, and Paul Smith. And with shows for Byblos and Paul&Joe under her belt, no wonder celebs like Thandie Newton, Rachel Weisz, Kelis, Keira Knightley, and Victoria Beckham trust their make-up styles to Liz.

Hi, my school formal is coming up this June and I’m wearing a red dress. I don't know what kind of make-up I should wear. I have a light tanned skin.
Hi, I love a red lip so I would do a gorgeous red lip, it’s also bang on trend this season. To make it really modern, make it very matt. Do this by first, apply a little foundation over the lips, then line the lips with a lip pencil, I would really recommend 1000 Kisses for this as it stays put! Next choose a great red, Lasting Finish Intense Wear Lipstick in Red Alarm and Rich Moisture Cream Lipstick in Icon - are great shades. Apply either with a brush or straight from the lipstick. Next blot with a tissue, split the tissue in two so it is sheerer, then press in some loose powder onto the lips through the tissue. Remove the tissue and you have a modern red matte lip, it will also stay put all night.
I have small eyes, and I love wearing eyeshadow, problem is eyeshadow disappears within an hour. Any hints how I can keep eyeshadow put?
It’s all in the prep. Apply a little foundation over your eyes before you start, then set it with a little loose powder, this gives you a good base to start with and will also prevent any creasing. If you are using pencils, try setting them with a little shadow over the top. You can really play with colours here, as the pencil underneath really intensifies the eyeshadow.
If want to wear the bare minimum just for daily wear. I know mascara is a given but what else do you suggest?
I can’t live without a good blush, it just livens up the face so I would say mascara is a definite and blush a must, if you have a good natural lipstick, like Lasting Finish Intense Wear Lipstick Asia, you can just rub a little of this on the apple of your cheeks, looks really healthy and fresh. Or a favourite blush of mine that suits everyone is Mousse Blush in Peach Ice Tea. Always brush your eyebrows for a really groomed look, and finish with a little gloss.
What is the best colour eyeshadow and eyeliner to wear with green eyes to enhance them and make them look greener. And is it still trendy to match your eyeshadow to what you are wearing?
Hi Suzanne, Green eyes look amazing with oranges, brick colours and pinks. Anything with a hint of red really pops out the green of your eyes.
When I apply my eyeliner I pull at the outside corner of my eye to stop the skin from dragging so I get a smooth line. This isn't great news for delicate skin. Can you suggest a better way?
Get a good firming eye cream! This really is the easiest way to put on liner, but seriously you don’t have to drag the skin too hard! Another way, though not quite as easy is to look down into a mirror whilst applying your liner, but your way is the best unfortunately!
What products do you recommend for over 40s, particularly those with extensive sun damage?
Definitely Stay Matte pressed powder. It gives a really good glow to the skin, because of the light diffusing particles, which will really help with the appearance of the sun damage.
Where should I be wearing blush? On the cheek bones? How do I pick the right spot?
There are so many ways to wear blush. The trend has been for a rosy glow to the apple of your cheeks for so long, this being the plumpest part of your cheek when you smile in the mirror, you may look crazy doing it, be careful in public! But the trend at the moment is to create more of a cheek bone. Do this by applying the blush to the hollow part of your cheeks when you suck in your cheeks, apply it below the bone. If you are going to “create” a cheekbone, stick to taupe shades: bronze is good from the mono blush, or sun bronze (022) from the Natural Bronzer range.
