HI! I have grey eyes and wonder what are good colors for me? Magazines usually only list blue, green, hazel and brown eye suggestions.
There really are lots of colours that would work well on you. Browns, pinks and oranges will really suit you but blues and greens will really bring out the colour of your eyes. Have you tried the Colour Rush Quad Shadow in Bronzed? Or the Colour Rush Mono in Goddess? These will really suit you.
I recently did a beauty shoot and the model had grey eyes. I used the new Exaggerate waterproof eye definer on her (available Fall 2008). It looked amazing, why don’t you try it? Just draw a line on the top lid, close to the lashes, then lots of Glam Eyes mascara, you’ll look beautiful.
I love the bright, hot colors that are out right now but I don't want to look like a clown. What fun color combos do you suggest for someone with pale skin, blonde hair & brown eyes?
If you want to use the bright colours that are in at the moment, I would recommend you stick to one shade. Too many shades just loses the impact. Two shadows maximum, good combos are orange and yellow, green works well with purple, as does blue with purple. You can apply it over the lid or use it as a liner. You could try Exaggerate Full Colour Eye Definer, which has some gorgeous bright shades. I love Pine 231, Aubergine 281 or Sable 211. You could otherwise use a super bright lipstick, which is very on trend right now. Try Indian Pink from 1000 kisses stay-on lip liner. I love it to fill in the whole lip because it makes a great matt lip, as seen on the runways. A warning, don’t do bright eyes and lips all together, then it becomes a little clown like.
Due to our work in the retail marketplace, my co-workers and I experience very dry and ragged cuticles. What can we do to get them in shape so that when customers are asking our advice about products, we can at least look as though we practice what we preach?
I’ve spoken to manicurists on shoots and the secret is to oil your cuticles as much as you can, and use hand cream. Try to do it before you go to bed so the product really works its magic whilst you get your beauty sleep!
I can’t find the right color eyeshadow for my eyes. I have fair skin and blue green eyes. What should I use? Also all the little rhinestones that are on the models eyes, how would I do that? I think it looks so amazing!
Pinks, purples , oranges and golds will look great on you and make your eyes look amazing. Have you tried Eyeful Eye Glistener? It looks amazing on its own or over a black pencil. Smoke it up and make it look like the looks that were coming off the runways this season by applying black kohl first on the inner rims of the eyes and across the top lid. Smudge a little, fix it with a little black shadow over the top, then blend Eyeful in over that in Girls Only! 100, Straight Laced 200, or Flaunt 700. Loads of mascara finishes the look. Keep everything else simple. You’ll look like you stepped straight off the runway!
With the rhinestones, all you need to do is stick them on where you want them with a tiny bit of eyelash glue. It’s easy to remove with a little oil.
As a redhead with fair skin, I’ve a difficult time trying to make the ‘smoky eyes’ work - it ends up looking much too dark for my face. Is there a ‘fair’ alternative?
Yes there is, just use softer colours. Browns or greys instead of blacks can still give you the smokiness if you apply a black kohl pencil on the inside of the eyes. Try Orion or Linx, from the colour rush trio eye shadows.
The smoky eye is very on trend this season after it was seen on lots of the runways for Autumn/ Winter.
What quick tricks do you have for someone who doesn't have a lot of time in the mornings? What tips can you give for that ready-to-go look?
I would just use a concealer where you need it. On most girls this is under the eyes, a little on the outside edge of the eyes, and around the nose. I love Recover for this as it’s so easy to use and has a really beautiful texture. A sweep of powder and a good coat of mascara help. I love Glam’ eyes, you can really build it up. A little blush, like Mousse Blush in shade Peach Ice Tea, it leaves the skin glowing and is such a fab shade it works on everyone. This one though would be applied before powder. Just a little to the apple of your cheeks applied with your fingers will make you look so radiant. Finish off with a slick of gloss and you’re good to go!
Every morning I put on eye liner before school and by the time lunch comes around its practically gone. I tried putting more eye liner on but it still doesn't work. What should I do to keep my eyeliner on all day?
Have you tried the new Exaggerate waterproof eye definer? It lasts ages! It’s unclear if you’re putting it in the eyes or around the eyes. If you’re putting it around the eye, try fixing it with the same coloured eyeshadow over the top. The thing with kohl pencils is they do move with the heat due to the oils in them. By applying a little shadow over the top it will stop it moving and ‘set’ it. I hope this helps.
