3 Fire Ways to Wear Orange Eyeshadow

Orange eyeshadow is the new nude. Seriously – if you’re all about warm hues that add definition, sweeping on a tango-toned shadow is the dreamiest way to go smokey this summer. Whether gradient sunset eyes are your vibe or you like to go major with a matte terracotta, we’ve got all the tricks you need to make an orange eye look flames…

Find Your Shades

First up, get the Magnif’Eyes Spice Edition Eyeshadow Palette (right) in your kit, because it holds 12 sunset-inspired shades to set your eye look aglow. All of the hues flatter every. single. eye colour, but you can also mix and match them to your mood. Here’s how…

1. FOR EVERYDAY ORANGE

Replace a swipe of matte chocolate colour for a burnt orange hue that’s beyond lit. We love the sixth shade from the left for this look, blended from lash line to crease and softened at the edges. If you want to add extra dimension, try tapping the tenth shade into the socket to define.

2. FOR SUNSET EYES

Ombre eyes just got a summery upgrade. Achieve sunset eyes with three shades: the fifth, the tenth and the eleventh - aka the coolest copper, the deep orangey-red and the defining plum. Apply the shimmery copper across the entire lid, tap the orangey-red shade through the inner corner of the socket, then finish with the plum on the outer crease. Buff with a clean, fluffy brush to blend.

3. FOR BRIGHTENING SHIMMER

If eye-brightening colour is your thing, go for a one-wash veil of shimmer from lash line to crease. From the lightest to the darkest, we love the third, fifth, seventh and eighth shades. Glide on with a wet brush or fingertip to up intensity, creating an almost-metallic effect.

Make It Bolder

The best orange eye looks happen when you’re working with a smooth, even canvas. You want colour to pop, so make sure you prep with an eyeshadow primer, like Magnif’Eyes Eye Primer. It’s got a tiny hint of a tint that neutralises redness on eyelids, plus it gives eyeshadow something to grip onto, helping it last for up to 24 hours.

Add Liner and Lashes

Don’t just go fierce with your eyeshadow - add liner and lashes to take your look next level. There are two ways to do it: soft and smudgy or bold and ultra-black. For a seriously sultry look, frame eyes with a chocolate liner, like Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer in Rich Brown. Nudge in between lashes to enhance your eye shape, then sweep on Wonder’Luxe Volume Mascara. Going bolder? Add a small liner wing using Exaggerate Liquid Eyeliner. The ultra-fine tip is beyond precise, so you have total control over the shape and size. Next, shake up a tube of Scandaleyes Reloaded Mascara in Extreme Black, hold the brush at the base of your lashes, then zig-zag through to the tips for full coverage and insane plumping power.
