Make your eyes POP: a five-minute guide to perfect eyes

The eyes are the window to your soul, which is reason enough to make them attention-grabbing.

Here’s our fail-safe guide to making your eye makeup the focal point of your look – without sacrificing more than five minutes in front of the mirror.

Start by lining your waterline with a nude eye pencil, like Scandal’Eyes Waterproof Kohl Liner in Nude, £3.99. This instantly widens your eyes and makes you look more awake. Then pick a pencil liner in a dark colour, like ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Liner in Black, £3.99 and tight line your upper waterline to add sultry definition to your eyes. These pencils have a waterproof formula that stops the pigment from slipping off, leaving you with a lasting look.

Next, draw on a cat-eye flick; a classic, simple look which draws attention to your eyes and makes you look a little more like a sixties film star. Which is never a bad thing. Pick the liquid eyeliner you find easiest to use - we regularly switch between Exaggerate Eyeliner, £5.29, which is a brush and liquid formula great for sweeping on dramatic lines, and ScandalEyes Thick & Thin Eyeliner, £5.49, a felt tip liner which makes drawing on your lids super easy.

Start at the inner corner of your eyelid, and draw a line above your lashline, following the natural shape of your eye until you reach the outer corner. Then draw a small dot beyond the outer edge of your eye, where you want the end of your flick to finish. Join the line to the dot, then fill it in for a winged effect.

The key to a great cat-eye is practice, practice, practice. Do it enough, and you’ll be able to pull it off in 2 minutes flat, while standing on a moving train.

Moving onto your brows, all you need to do is grab the Brow This Way Eyebrow Gel, £2.99, and sweep the brush through your brows for instant colour, shape and fullness. Add a dab of the Brow This Way Highlighting Pencil, £4.99, under the outer arch of each brow, and blend to lift and brighten your whole face.

Finally, finish off with a coat or two of Volume Colourist Mascara, £7.99. It gives you instant volume, and it tints your lashes over two weeks of wear, meaning that even when you’re not wearing mascara your lashes look dark. How’s that for a convenient eye look?

And that’s your super-quick eye look done. It’s fast, simple, but oh-so polished.
