6 makeup tips we've learned from Kate Moss in 15 years with Rimmel

15 years. That’s how long Kate Moss has been one of our Rimmel London icons, and we’re celebrating the milestone by looking back at her very best makeup moments. Since we partnered up with the supermodel, she’s been nailing the London Look with her effortless smoky eyes, love for red and nude lips, and her flawless manicures. Here are six makeup tips we’ve picked up from her along the way...

1. When in doubt, go nude

Kate knows that a swipe of nude lipstick is the quickest trick for looking polished, which is why there are three buff shades in her 15th anniversary collection of Lasting Finish Lipsticks (£6.49 each). There’s Boho Nude, a warm, apricot hue, and Rock ‘n’ Roll Nude, a soft, peachy shade. Plus, the model has dubbed one of the lipsticks My Nude, as it’s a match for her signature beige lip.

2. Red lips say party time

As well as three nudes, Kate’s 15th anniversary collection includes a trio of ultra-wearable reds. To nail summer’s tangerine lip trend, wear orange-toned shade Idol Red with a dusting of bronzer, and try Muse Red if you like blue-toned reds that help your teeth appear whiter. For a pout that says party time, swipe on Retro Red, a rich crimson lipstick that’s deep and sultry. We can see Kate wearing it with her favourite smoky eyeshadows.

3. A manicure is a must

Make like Kate and think of your manicure as an accessory to your outfit. Her 15th anniversary collection of Super Gel Nail Polishes, £5.99 each, will enhance any look. There are three shades to choose from, including Gilty Pleasure, a soft rose gold, Boho-Licious, a beautiful nude, and a shimmering red called Rock n’ Sparkle. Pair each colour with the Super Gel Top Coat, £5.99, for up to 14 days of glossy wear.

4. Sun-kissed skin just works

Come rain or shine, Kate’s skin has always got a gorgeous glow, and now you can cheat her sun-kissed look with the Kate Sculpting Palette, £6.99, available in two shades. The kit of powders contains a matte bronzer to be swept beneath your cheekbones, plus a shimmering, peachy blusher that you swirl on the apples of your cheeks for a healthy flush. Finish your contoured look with a touch of the highlighter on cheekbones, brow bones, chin, forehead and the bridge of your nose, and your skin will look supermodel-radiant.

5. A believable base is best

Kate likes to play with a smoky eye, feline flicks and a bold, red lip, but there’s one makeup staple that she never fails to wear: a natural-looking base. Her foundation always looks dewy and fresh, and you can get the look with a product that offers a seamless, second-skin finish. Try Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation, £7.99, for weightless coverage that perfects.

6. Smoky eyes are foolproof

Whether it’s a full-on, smudgy lid or just a few generous coats of mascara, Kate rocks a smoky eye like no other - no matter what the time of day. Channel her love of sooty shadows, ultra-black lashes and kohl-lined eyes with Magnif’eyes Mono Eyeshadow in Black Fender, £4.49, 24hr SuperCurler Mascara in Extreme Black, £6.99, and Exaggerate Smoke n’ Shine in Little Black Smokey, £3.99.
