You don’t just want a lipstick. When you’re sweeping on a statement shade, you want a long-lasting lipstick that goes the distance - from AM to PM, coffee to cocktails, work to work-out ...you get the idea. That’s where Lasting Finish Extreme Lipstick steps in; it offers extreme colour, extreme comfort and extreme wear in a single swipe, giving you a satin finish that lasts.

Want in? Combine this unstoppable formula with six hacks that give it even more staying power. Here are the kiss-proof, drink-proof, just-won’t-budge tips we always follow…

1. Smooth Things Over

The first step to achieve the most long-lasting lipstick? Exfoliate. Not only does this leave you with a soft, smooth canvas for colour, but it also prevents any pigment from flaking off. Try using a specialised lip scrub or warm, damp cloth to lightly buff lips in circular motions, then smooth on a layer of lip balm and let it soak in (like a mask) for 5-10 minutes. Finish by blotting off with a tissue.

2. Conceal to Reveal

Sometimes our natural lip colour can slightly alter the shade of our lipstick. For the most true-to-tone finish and an epic colour pay-off, prep lips before applying your long-lasting lipstick of choice, using a creamy concealer. Dot and blend the shade of Match Perfection Concealer (right) closest to your natural skin tone directly onto lips. As well as revealing the most poppin’ shade of your lip colour, it also acts as a primer for an even longer-lasting finish to your lip look. Yaaaassss.

3. Go Polished and Precise

If you prefer to go super-precise with your lip colour application, a lip liner and lip brush are your BFFs.

Start by lining with your shade of Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Lip Liner, tracing the natural lip to define your shape. Use the pointed pencil tip to lightly feather colour into the middle of lips, so it will act as a base for your long-lasting lipstick to grip on to. Then, with a thin lip brush, lightly sweep on your lipstick, using the lip line as your guide. You can clean up the cupid’s bow and lip line with our brush-on concealer, Match Perfection. Hello, flawless.

4. Find Your Long-Lasting Lipstick Shade

After prepping, priming and lining your lips to perfection, it’s time to apply your long-lasting lip colour. Which shade of Lasting Finish Extreme Lipstick will you choose? There are eight shades to try, from punchy pink Buzz’n to bold, burgundy Thirsty Bae.

If you’re looking for a summer-ready coral lipstick, try the beyond aptly-named shade Lit! Or go extra with the shade Extra; a hot purple that ensures all eyes are on you.

5. Achieve Just-Kissed Lips

Thinking sexy and a little smudged for tonight’s lip look? Apply a small amount of your chosen long-lasting lipstick onto fingertips to warm up colour, making it lighter and easier to blend. Then, for that just-kissed finish, use your fingertip to dot and blend lipstick onto top and bottom lips, leaving a soft, blurred effect. Mwah.

6. Front and Centre

Whichever look you’re going for, the best way to apply long-lasting lipstick is to start from the centre and blend outwards. Having slightly fuller coverage in the centre of your lips will create the illusion of a plump finish and makes it easier to blend lipstick outwards to the lip line and corners of the mouth, where you only need a touch of colour.

7. Blot, Blot and Away

Finish your lip look with a face powder – seriously. Not just perfect for controlling an oily t-zone, a translucent powder, like Match Perfection Loose Powder (left), can extend the wear of lipstick. Start by blotting your lipstick with tissue and reapplying for an additional layer of colour. Then, hold a thin sheet of tissue over lips and use a fluffy brush to dust powder on top of that. A fine layer will go through the tissue and set your lip look in place, resulting in lipstick that will. not. move. Trust us, that red lipstick is going nowhere.

Now you’ve got the application down, find your ultimate nude lipstick or coral lipstick to show off your skills IRL...
